Movie Slow Talk [0001] Rounders King of Gamblers

The 1998 film, as can be seen from Matt Damon's thin face, is old.

At that time, the film was directed at Matt Damon. This man is not tall and handsome. He was really good in "Bourne Bourne". Good Will Hunting seems to have gotten him an award. I really like him to play this kind of super smart role. It is the image of a man's dream. Of course, coupled with the invincible skills in "Bourne Bound", it is even more ideal. Matt Damon's plasticity is very strong, although the output is not too much, but basically it is still fine. I remember that he had a shy belly and an ugly beard. He played a natural liar in "The informant", but he could see different roles and personalities in similar expressions, which was really amazing.

Matt Damon and Edward Norton in Rounders were both impeccable, and of course KGB, who speaks English with a Russian accent, is also very good. I don't know if it was the time when the film was filmed or the time described was too rustic, or maybe the winter in New York was too gloomy, or maybe the characters were so slovenly and their clothes were ugly. Edward Norton's leather jacket sleeves are a tragedy, making his thin shoulders already visible in Fight Club more apparent.

I was deeply poisoned by the happy ending, so the ending surprised me a bit. Michael went to Las Vegas to pursue his dream, but the ending I can imagine is that he is dead on the street, gambling is like a drug addiction, and there is absolutely no way out. Perhaps this is what the screenwriter wants to say, and that is Michael's fate.

I feel more and more a sign of Edward Norton's role in various films

There are too many technical terms, and I don't understand Texas Hold'em very well, so I only speak from the perspective of a general audience. . . Norton is as handsome as ever! <----Shut up!

Rounders quotes

  • Mike McDermott: [Narrating] I've often seen these people, these squares at the table, short stack and long odds against them. All their outs gone. One last card in the deck that can help them. I used to wonder how they could let themselves get into such bad shape, and how the hell they thought they could turn it around.

  • Teddy KGB: That ace could not have helped you.

[drops all of his chips onto the table]

Teddy KGB: I bet it all.

Mike McDermott: [laughs] You're right Teddy, the ace didn't help.

[pushes chips towards the center and flops down his cards]

Mike McDermott: I flopped the nut straight.
