People read books to prepare for the real world. A lobbyist with a firm belief in more than just his own ability to win. (I think this is the case with any profession. In addition to ability, we also need to believe in our hearts.)

Sometimes we act not for ourselves, but for the simplest and purest reason, and that is because we believe it is the right thing to do. I hope members of Congress vote not with their own political interests in mind, but with what they believe in their hearts is good for their country. But I know my hopes are shattered because none of this will happen because our government is corrupt. The way of living now doesn't reward upright politicians who vote with conscience, it only rewards mean people. Those who are willing to sell their country for a piece of the pie, with all due respect, these scumbags are the real parasites of American democracy.

Very interesting story, a really lonely hero who doesn't explain his motives at the end, it's even cooler~

A woman who does everything in her power gets (intuitively miraculously) right on gun control and becomes the subject of myth. Well...just like Gongdou dramas, it satisfies the audience's imagination of the comprehensive blackening of "human nature", "power skills" and "scheming". "Gun Control Act" is replaced by the emperor, and this movie is "Ms. Zhen Huan"; if it is replaced by a rich boy, this movie is "Ms. Lu Yiping".

Miss Sloane quotes

  • Elizabeth Sloane: Forde, human interaction is an exchange, my money for your...

    Forde: Dick.

Elizabeth Sloane: I was gonna say skill-set. But that's only exchange I'm willing to make.

Forde: You sound like a banker.

  • Esme Manucharian: You crossed the line when you stopped treating people with respect. You're smart enough to know that. You just don't care.
