For Billy, it is not so much the redemption of human nature as it is the redemption of life. Accompanied by his accusations and neglect from childhood to adulthood, his parents who were selfish and ignored his existence made him cowardly, sensitive and self-respecting, and wanted to use a series of extreme means to make himself look decent. Will he change his deep-rooted concept and character from childhood to adulthood because of a warm love? No one knows, the ending of the movie is just the beginning of his face-to-face relationship. If Layla is Stockholm Syndrome, then it's another matter.
