Reflections on "The Whistleblower"

I just finished watching the informer, starring a mummy woman, and I was very depressed after watching it. It's a bit like what the speaking teacher Paul said, when people grow up, they like to watch profound movies.

The theme of the story is based on the civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Nations peacekeeping force personnel participate in human trafficking, and the heroine and heroine finally save the situation. The heroine who just started, just went for the money. When the higher-level officers preached justice and peace, the heroine did not have much input, but the male teammates around were very excited.

But with the narrative process of peeling cocoons, facts have surfaced. The reason why so many bars can survive in such a war country is not the men of the country, but the officers of the peacekeeping forces. The grandmother of the shelter said: "The war has killed half of the men in our country. Who do you think these girls serve!" It was so peaceful, but my heart was very turbulent.

The hostess said something like this in the play. She said,

- I used to have 25 people in our branch at home, and I knew each of them, everything about them, and their families.

--I thought I came here to work with a group of elites, but now I don't even know who they are? !

Western society has always believed that at the beginning of humanity, nature was evil. I didn't think so. The things I have been exposed to in recent years have allowed me to gradually and deeply understand the connotation of this sentence. In a Western society with a well-developed and sound legal system, everyone living in such a system has no chance or reason for you to act unexpectedly, at least for most people. Coupled with enlightened values and advanced urbanization process, many things will not cause panic and onlookers. But even such gentlemen and civilized human beings are exiled to a turbulent area like Sarajevo, there is no rule of law, inter-ethnic fights, and imperfect social beliefs. The dirty, extreme, and evil thoughts in human nature will be released by all kinds of loose constraints. It turns out that we dare to say what we didn't dare to say, and we dare to do what we didn't dare to do. Even worse, extremely extreme. The many plots that appear in the movie make you feel like you are not going to a bar for fun, but more like a lot of previously taboo curiosities, and innocent girls become dolls among them, and their pain seems to be a reaction. As a result, it is normal to appear, and it is enough to satisfy their curiosity.

After all the hardships, the girl who wanted to rescue died after all. She was treated as the chicken of the slaughter and the monkey, looking very sad, but I think it is indeed the best ending. The pain she suffered was the kind of death that could be replaced. Death was still peaceful, but the torture was endless. Possibly, I mean it’s possible, the rescued have no skills, no abilities, and maybe many will return to their old professions, but the dignity of existence can be called a person! ! ! This is very important~~~

The Whistleblower quotes

  • Fred Murray: [interrupting here findings] Where are we going, Columbo?

Kathryn Bolkovac: I don't know, but um, something fucked up is going on.

Fred Murray: Ooh. Honey, it's like I say, this is Bosnia. These people specialize in "fucked up".

  • Kathryn Bolkovac: [email to authorities] We are peacekeepers who came to protect the innocent, but now prey upon them in the worst ways possible. We may be accused of thinking with our hearts instead of our heads, but we will have our humanity.
