A woman who was so full of vitality and creativity when she was young, when aging came, she became an old lady with no self-awareness, ignorant ravioli, and sloppy confusion. Years are cruel, and time will eventually kill all good memories. As an individual, no matter how good you were, no matter how hard you struggled, you will eventually become nothing and nothing. Kate is full of energy but lacks intellect, and Judi, the old drama bone, performs well.

The pace is slow but the story is still very touching. The two british actresses especially judi dench did a fantastic job!
Young Iris Murdoch: Yes, of course, there's something fishy about describing people's feelings. You try hard to be accurate, but as soon as you start to define such and such a feeling, language lets you down. It's really a machine for making falsehoods. When we really speak the truth, words are insufficient. Almost everything except things like "pass the gravy" is a lie of a sort. And that being the case, I shall shut up. Oh, and... pass the gravy.
