just tell a story

After watching n French movies and feeling depressed and unable to find Bei, I finally realized something today. It turns out that there is no "central idea", just an interesting story.

It may be that we are used to finding a joint sentence from a paragraph or extracting a central idea from the text, so we always ask: What does this movie want to express? This may be a hindrance to our understanding of foreign films, because directors had no intention of telling a story through a story. The movie is not a fairy tale by Charles Perrault, and there must be a moralité at the end.

It doesn't matter whether this movie is about "pure love" (un amour absolu), or Alex's family love, or something else. The director just captures the trivial details of his own life, uses his own way of telling (avec des trucs), and reproduces it in front of others through the editing of cameras and film. As for the rest, it's up to the critics.
