For three hours, the director stuffed many kinds of comparisons, the comparison between weddings and funerals, the two deer hunting comparisons, and the two Russian roulette comparisons. They were divided by war. There were a few scenes, especially Walken dedicated performances that can be recorded in film history, but the first hour was too dull. One of the themes of the film, Walken's disillusionment, is very similar to Harvey Dante in The Dark Knight. What they resort to is a kind of mechanical randomness and mechanical fairness. It's just that one chooses to toss a coin and the other chooses Russian roulette. Humanity is destroyed by the sense of machinery, and the disillusioned person dies by his own hands as he wishes, but that is not suicide, not destiny, not hope and despair. Just random.

Michael: You have to think about one shot. One shot is what it's all about. A deer's gotta be taken with one shot.
