Yesterday, I was really bored, so I only started watching this long drama at about ten o'clock in the evening. There are 4 discs, and I do it alone in the bedroom. No lights are turned on, only the lights on the screen are flickering. This drama is It starts with a pharaoh's narration, from Alexander as a child, describes his life background, then the government of a fierce horse as a boy, then the conflict when the king takes his wife, and finally how Alexander conquered various The country's.
When I first started watching this show, maybe because of the poor historical background, I thought that the actor who played Alexander should be someone who looked smart and strong, but the protagonist in the movie seemed to be a very tame person. It seems a little cowardly, I don't know if it's appropriate to say this, but that was what I felt at the time. After reading it, I found out that Alexander was actually not that kind of barbaric tyrant. He advocated peaceful coexistence and was kind to the people of the countries he conquered. .
I read a lot of reviews before writing this review and they all seem to focus on Alexander's mother, the snake, and the tame horse, but I feel like we should focus more on the movie itself, I haven't seen any history of Alexander Reading, I also know very little about this amazing character. I want to know what percentage of the real history this movie restores? Alexander finally arrived in India, he got a wife in a foreign country, never picked up his mother, and was he really poisoned in the end? Hope someone who knows can give some answers.
For this drama in general, I think it's pretty good, it's worth watching, it might be better if there is a relevant historical background, I recommend everyone to watch~~~

Alexander quotes

  • Old Ptolemy: The truth is never simple and yet it is. The truth is we did kill him. By silence we consented... because we couldn't go on. But by Ares, what did we have to look forward to but to be discarded in the end like Cleitus? After all this time, to give away our wealth to Asian sycophants we despised? Mixing the races? Harmony? Oh, he talked of these things. I never believe in his dream. None of us did. That's the truth of his life. The dreamers exhaust us. They must die before they kill us with their blasted dreams.

  • Alexander: [after Philip's assassination]

Alexander: How could you behave so shamelessly in public?

Olympias: Because it was meant to be.

Alexander: This is not how I wanted to become king!

    Olympias: No one blames you.

Alexander: They blame me already! Behind my back, in secret!

    Olympias: Slander is not power.

Alexander: Shame is? Who killed my father? Tell me! Tell me or shall I put you on trial for his murder?

    Olympias: Pausanias.

Alexander: He had help! Did you help him?

Olympias: [not convincingly] No. Never. Why? Why would I?
