The texture of Hemingway's novels

The United States that started the war was absolutely wrong.

The use of chemical weapons in Vietnam is really inhumane.

The film has a wrong standpoint but it was made very well.

Nick's madness and despair are hidden in his heart. Destroy yourself in the same way. But he still remembers sending money to his injured comrades in arms, maybe he thinks he needs these.

After Mike came back, it seemed that he was still contacting friends, and people who had seen the battlefield began to evade and hide. A different kind of silence. Just like the veteran they met before they set off for Vietnam.

Those who haven't been there are still holding guns. It's ironic.

The plain narrative seems to be the turbulent emotion of Hemingway's novel in the plot. Addicted

    Naturalistic tendency

Step by step, the typical three-stage style. The pre-war, mid- and post-war narratives were written in large sections. When I saw the end, I recalled the good times of the first few young people in the small town. The contrast effect was extremely strong. The huge trauma brought to every ordinary person is fully revealed. The section of "Russian Roulette" looks very nervous. Aunt Mei was so beautiful when she was young, like a fairy descending to the world. The deer hunter, I don't know if it is a hunter of the forest or a prey of war.

The Deer Hunter quotes

  • Nick: I don't think about that much with one shot anymore, Mike.

Michael: You have to think about one shot. One shot is what it's all about. A deer's gotta be taken with one shot.

  • Julien: When a man says no to champagne, he says no to life.
