The Chinese version of Wuthering Heights has been unwatchable and stayed in Chapter 4 for four years, but the depressing and ghostly atmosphere of the book has always been in my mind. In the movie, this feeling of depression and ghosts hiding in the dark is almost non-existent.
The film as a whole is a mature film, the narrative structure is relatively smooth, there are omitted parts in the middle, but there is no sense of rupture due to the jump on the timeline. The protagonist's portrayal is fairly clear, and the supporting roles are a bit more functional than personality. A Hollywood-formatted Wuthering Heights, at first glance, is a bit of a bloody love drama, but the fiery love that Kathy burst out before his death is enough to fill my dissatisfaction as a three-view party.
