"2046": All Memories Are Damp

Love blinds people, and it is not false at all. Years of obsessive fascination with Wong Kar-Wai made it impossible for me to tell whether 2046 was a masterpiece as usual or a fake. Gorgeous, graceful, decadent, and melancholy, "2046" shows its charming power in the magic of light and shadow. I think she should be excellent. But the answer is unsure to me. 2046 is a guest room in the Oriental Hotel. It is the imaginary space where Zhou Muyun peeped into the past from Room 2047. It is the name of his novel. In Zhou Muyun's novel "2046", this number is still a train bound for nothingness, where there are carriages with strong colors and robots with dull expressions. This is a train that can bring back lost memories. In the unknown place it leads to, nothing will change. Time is stagnant, clocks are stopped, and only the memory of the past is eternal. Before going to Singapore, Zhou Muyun told the secret in his heart to a cave in Angkor Wat, and then sealed it with soil. He thought he was freed. In fact, his subsequent life journey was like stepping on the No. 2046 train in the novel. He shuttled among different women just to find the shadow of the former woman Su Lizhen. Milan Kundera said that there are two kinds of men in the world, one is looking for the shadow of all women in one woman, and the other is looking for the shadow of one woman in different women. Zhou Muyun undoubtedly belongs to the latter. The other "Su Lizhen" in the Singapore casino, Bai Ling, who seems to be familiar with her eyes, and Wang Jingwen, who writes novels with her, are all just because she has more or less the Su Lizhen from "In the Mood for Love" on her body. Only the shadow was able to enter Zhou Muyun's life. These women are like the "Su Lizhen", they belong to Room 2046. When Zhou Muyun peeked through Room 2047, he was also bound by this confined space. Two rooms are like two worlds! It's like diving in a glass tank. There is a vaguely vague figure outside the glass tank. You look for the vaguely familiar figure and walk away from it. Infinitely close, but always estranged. The No. 2046 train drove to a void destination with scars and sorrows. There were all kinds of faces scattered in the air. They go to the same empty place, but they have different prosperity and loss, longing and loneliness in their hearts. The 2046 train runs through the time journey where there is no starting point and no ending point, like a tragedy theater, where people stage their own happy or sad tragedies. In fact, Wong Kar-wai has not changed at all. He is still hiding behind the world he has built with sound, light and shadow, and tells his own feelings. Rejection and escape, parting and loss, temptation and avoidance, the characters in his films are still as sensitive as ever. They keep falling in love with each other, saying goodbye, warming and hurting each other, never ending. The story says: As long as you get on the train to 2046, people can retrieve their lost memories. At the end where it leads, nothing will change, time is stagnant, clocks are stopped, and only the memory of the past is eternal. Such a place is destined to not exist, so this train is destined to never end. 2046 is actually the wet memory that follows everyone. You can't let it go, you can only carry it to the front of the unknown. In 2046, people kept saying goodbye, and people kept embarking on a new path. Among these travelers, we saw the face of Wong Kar-wai, or our own. I also saw that the memories of the past flowed day and night like a river, and the ashes of time were scattered in it, drifting with the current, and I did not know where it would end.
