"into the white"

Combining the elements of war and extreme survival, a cabin is used as a space to tell the story of how five men who were shot down by each other's soldiers turned enemies into friends and survived. (This is a good summary)

I've seen some WWII-themed films, but this is the first time I've seen it. The film was filmed in Norway, winter, blizzard, and three German soldiers and two British soldiers. Well, they shot each other down, and then, Gathered in the same cabin. Then, is how to survive.

From the first confrontation between the enemy and the enemy (first the German army took the lead, and then the British army took the lead), to the later feud with the enemy, this confrontation is cold and hunger. In order to keep warm, he burned everything that could be burned in the log cabin, and almost burned the pillars that supported the house. As a result, the house collapsed as soon as the pillars were cut down, and the enemy and us could not support the house with bare hands.

I thought the film would be dull, but it wasn't at all, and it was full of humor. Perhaps the extreme living environment will make people rethink the meaning of war, and will also make people understand what life is for. Some of the dialogues in the film are very philosophical and seem to be casual.

The film has been shot in a small cabin, and the small space creates a sense of crampedness in the picture, so the audience will always worry about the occurrence of conflicts between the two sides. Of course, conflicts have happened many times. However, the most intense conflict was not the conflict between the enemy and us, but when the other four decided to cut off the arm of a wounded German soldier. Fortunately, everything was fine.

It is also the subject of extreme survival, and such a shooting method is obviously a higher level than "Antarctic Love". What the director presents is multi-dimensional, and the actors perform well.

Still wishing for world peace.

    Old-fashioned national comedy.

The traditional anti-war film routine, a few beautiful men in the military turned enemies into friends all the way, the final plot needs to silently kill a few protagonists to show you the power of the war... Let's sing a Imagine together, no one wants to be patriotic, no one goes for anyone else How nice to die. Cold and humorous, the Anglo-German camp is full of all kinds of scolding slots. David Kross and Rupert Grint are both super cute.

Into the White quotes

  • Gunner Robert Smith: What's your name, again? Me, Smith. You?

    [Strunk doesn't answer]

Gunner Robert Smith: [shouting] What's your name?

    Feldwebel Wolfgang Strunk: Strunk!

  • Captain Charles P. Davenport: Listen to me, you twisted cheese-eating gnome. While you've been sitting on your arse down here waiting for the sun to shine, we've been struggling to survive, in a remote cabin, with some Germans - and we did survive, most of us. And now, I have my lighter back, and that is the end of the matter.
