In South Sudan and Uganda, children are being victimized by terrorists. By chance, Sam, an American, came here, witnessed all kinds of tragic situations, and was shocked. He decided to build an orphanage in the war zone to accept the rescued children. In order to maintain the operation of the orphanage, Sam borrowed money from all over the world, and finally could not sell his own house, only to raise money for the orphanage. After all, a person's strength is limited, and in a situation of being alone and helpless, in the face of the child's inability to do anything, anger and hatred fill his heart, he begins to doubt the existence of the god he has always believed in, and his family is in crisis. They also started rejecting him, and it all went bad. A child he rescued said to him: "If we fall into hatred, they win, we can't let them take over our hearts". Since then his hatred has been released.
Watching this movie, my biggest feeling is shock, it feels incredible, in a peaceful age, in a certain corner of the earth, there are still terrible killings. In the face of this dehumanizing killing, there is nothing we can do. The gap between the changing scenes in the film is even more thought-provoking. On the one hand, there are tragic scenes full of killing, blood and poverty in South Sudan and Uganda, and on the other hand, there are scenes of peaceful and comfortable life in the United States.
I admire sam's courage. Sometimes, when faced with an impossible task or a bad status quo that cannot be changed for the time being, maybe we just need to keep doing what we think is right and what we think can have a positive effect on changing the status quo. This is very great. As the ending song sings: i am the keeper, persistence is great!
