The cast was too strong and inevitably raised expectations. The fragmented narration at the beginning of the movie made me think that the movie was going to be a stream-of-consciousness literary film. So I watched patiently for 20 minutes, but there was no aesthetic or logical editing. As well as the scene switching and the unremarkable script and lines, I think it can't even be called a literary film. The script and lines are really far from a literary film that also does not have too much plot like Ai Zai trilogy. Originally thought that if the details are not enough, maybe the idea expressed from its macro perspective is not bad? When I saw the end, I found that the idea it conveyed was really cliché—that is, after reading (about) countless people looked back and found that their favorite was still the one...
The biggest problem may still be the cross-matching sex experience of permutation and combination and after that The various people inserted are not a convincing account of many people and the appearance of the plot makes people feel very abrupt and unclear. Because of the unnatural arrangement of the whole plot, no matter how good the actors look, they still can't feel the intoxicated expressions they show in the make out scene. In short, all the sexual scenes really don't make people feel the beauty of sex. But this may also be a beauty that people who can't control an open relationship can't appreciate. But think about it again, it seems that Fa Shark in the film is playing a 3P sex addiction obsessive-compulsive disorder (???), which is really unconvincing compared to the sex addicts in SHAME he played before. His eyes, movements and behaviors in SHAME make people feel the sexual desire that he is about to burst out but tries to suppress. The sexual tension is laid out in every detail of the movie, but in song to song, this kind of sexual tension is laid out in every detail. The lack of too many details to supplement and persuade the character image often makes people feel very inexplicable. Maybe the director's ambition is too big. He wants to express a chaotic and free sexual desire and also wants to describe the "complex" and "metaphysical" psychology of the protagonists. In the end, both aspects are not good enough.
But it's not without its bright spots. I am a diehard fan of Rooney Mara. Personally, I think the acting skills of several leading actors including Mala - Dog Commander, Fa Shark, Natalie Portman, etc. should be performed normally. Such a "free" to lazy film may only be able to control it to such a degree. The individual dog commander and the spicy love scene are still sweet and let people see the true romance. Although the cinematography of this film is really It's not great or even I think it's bad, but the southwestern United States is so beautiful that I put it on the wish list for my spring break trip.
In short, I'm very disappointed after watching it. The whole film is presented from presentation to presentation. The content is not what I expected, but for the spicy sake, I'll give it a three-star. Of course, the above only represents my personal position. Friends who are curious about this film can go and see it for themselves~
