Brave

For a long time, those great war stories and magical legends have been passed down by word of mouth, from generation to generation, in this stretch of mysterious Scottish Highlands. Another sincere work by Disney Pixar, the magnificent story of the brave Merida who resisted the constraints of tradition and pursued freedom to change her destiny turned out. Merida is the eldest daughter of King Fogg and Queen Eleanor. She is an excellent archer and willful, and Brave tells the story of her adventures.
In order to get out of her own way, Merida refuses to inherit the ancient traditions that are sacred and inviolable for the three tribal chiefs (Dingwa, McKim, McGonagall). Merida's recklessness brings chaos and disaster to her kingdom, and when she asks for help from the witch in the forest, the witch casts a catastrophic spell.
The ensuing disaster forces Merida to use all her powers—including her triplets—to help her break the spell and discover the true meaning of courage.
Co-directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapp and executive produced by Kathryn Salafian, Brave is full of great adventure saga, classic characters and, of course, a global favorite. The Pixar-style humor fans have come to expect.

From "Rapunzel" we can see the future development direction of Disney/Pixar, but "Brave" tested the water under the name of Pixar and it was difficult for movie fans to accept it. In fact, it is the same thing. But this time is indeed too stylized, even if it is a princess fairy tale, it must be said, and the Scottish legend should be more fascinating. This is certainly one of Disney's best animations, but it is also one of Pixar's worst animations.

Perhaps it is because I have heard more bad reviews of this movie, but I feel better than I expected. The complete story, smooth plot, plump personality, exquisite style of painting, and good soundtrack are all there, but there is no touching one. Or a thought-provoking creative theme, so the three-star half is still in place. The burp of Mama Bear and the omnipotent three brothers are too broken!

Brave quotes

  • Lord Dingwall: Where is the Queen? We'll not stand for any more of this jiggery-pokery!

  • Princess Merida: My mother... the Queen, feels... in her heart, that I... that we be free to... write our own story. Follow... our... hearts. And find love in our own time.
