Today is not as good as before

Excluding the technical gap of nearly sixty years, this movie is much better than this year's remake of the same name.

The only flaw in the setting that damages the overall structure is that the military's alert to flying saucers is too weak (two hapless sentinels come and go). As for the final ideological declaration, considering that it was an era that had just bid farewell to World War II and entered the Cold War, even women and people of color are still striving for equal rights, which is understandable and understandable.

The characters in the 09 remake basically seem to suffer from some kind of mental illness, especially Comrade Keanu Reeves. The alien commissioner's actions are not making sense at all. The process of collecting intelligence and decision-making is too unprofessional, and Bush Jr. shouldn't be so careless and simple. I don’t know if the main creative team’s intention is to satirize the crazier world or what?

The 1951 version is beautiful, but I can't help but laugh

This was a very important sci-fi turning point in film and television, and many of its contents were quoted or referenced by countless subsequent films. Personally, its beginning is really similar to the beginning of "Stranger in a Stranger", but it's far less exciting. After that, there was a lot of superficial American humor, and I didn't catch it personally.
