Bright Young Things negative evaluation

Frey is a gentle actor and a talented genius, with extraordinary talents and a thriving literary career, but under his direction, this British film has become bland and frustrating.
The problem with the film is not the adaptation of the plot, nor the deleted comedy scenes. Except for the wonderful guest appearances of old actors Jim Browderbent and Peter O'Toole, many of the performances in the film are too complicated and annoying, although Moore’s role is a bit sympathetic, while Modimo’s voice is Strangely harsh.
Despite the star-studded film, it still failed to meet the audience's expectations. The problem with the film seems to lie in Frey's lack of focus, lack of guidance, and conceptual gimmicks. The film ended in World War II without mentioning the Great Depression, so the cultural background of this film is wrong. From a historical point of view, this film is really a mess.

Lottie Crump: Let me introduce you. That's Mr What's-his-name, and over there in the corner, that's the major... that's an American judge, and there's the King of Pomerania.
King of Anatolia: Anatolia, actually. But, alas, no more.

Miles: [crying] It's so unbearably... unbearable.
