In Chicago, Sam Phelan and his beloved wife Leslie are struggling to make their mortgage payments after losing their jobs. While driving his old Buick over an overpass, Sam found a wallet that fell off and opened it to find more than $600,000 in it. Sam and his wife quickly quit their jobs, paid their mortgage, bought an off-road vehicle and remodeled their home. Meanwhile, British criminal Pyke Kubic came to the United States from London to visit his brother Reeve Kubic in prison. He told his brother that he had thrown away the stolen money so that the evidence could be destroyed. But he said he saw a Caucasian pick it up. Pyke found Sam and recovered some of the money, but the greedy couple had spent about $75,000 of it, and Pyke wanted them to return the balance within five days.
