Charlotte's Web Shooting process

The film was shot in Melbourne, Australia, and the crew carefully constructed the American rural scenes, and still maintained the original "timelessness" feeling. The most important thing is to let the animal actors perform realistically. The pigs in the film mainly use real shots, and use computer animation to "lip-sync" when speaking. Many shots of other animals are made with computer animation. The spider Charlotte and the mouse Templarite in the film are all made of CG. It took 14 months to make the film, which was twice as much as expected. There are 47 pig "actors" in 4 sizes, which are used to "play" Wilbur of different ages. Director Wennick has been mingling with a group of animals. In order for the pigs to do what everyone wanted, they took 41 days to complete a scene, and 27 different scenes were shot at the same time every day. The film took 1.5 million feet of film, and when it was finished, the film was only 9,000 feet long.

Narrator: And in an ordinary barn, an ordinary pig, a runt no less, stood surrounded by friends, welcoming his second spring. And that spring was followed by many, many more. All because someone stopped to see the grace, and beauty, and nobility, of the humblest creature. That is the miracle of friendship.

Samuel the Sheep: Now, *that* is something to follow.
