De-Lovely movie plot

2022-04-12 08:01
Fragrant Paris. Porter, the dashing musician, is an American who revels in his romantic life, preferring to hang out with handsome, stocky same-sex partners rather than pretty girls. The hobby came to an abrupt end with the appearance of the wealthy and charming Linda Lee. Love can be met but not sought, so that the two step into the palace of marriage.
After marriage, Linda devoted herself to her husband's career and recommended Porter to the legendary composer Irving Berlin. The hard work paid off, and Porter quickly gained Broadway recognition, and then began to write music for Hollywood. The rapid rise in career has widened the distance between husband and wife, and the once inseparable part has become less confident. Unexpectedly, an unexpected tragedy finally brought the two forgotten hearts back together   .

In fact, I don't like to watch exaggerated musicals, but this one is not annoying, many scenes are very high-end & classic; love is not only one side, there is loyalty, deception, evil, and nostalgia...

De-Lovely quotes

  • Linda Porter: Is everything in Hollywood connected with movies,

    Louis B. Mayer: Everything good.

  • Cole Porter: You see how far I'd go to win you back?

Linda Porter: I think you've gone *too* far this time, but I ought to be used to it by now.
