Alex is a psychologist for the police. He has just received news that his niece, Naomi, who goes to school in Durham, is missing. In order to find his niece, Alex decided to go to Durham, North Carolina . After arriving at the local police station, Alex discovered that there have been a number of missing girls here in succession. They are all beautiful and excellent, and three of them have found their bodies. The girls who were killed were all tied to a tree and had been sexually assaulted before they died.
Shortly after Alex arrived in Durham, a doctor named Kite became the only girl who managed to escape from the criminals. But it was obvious that Kite was over-frightened. She was also injected with xi anesthesia, a drug widely used to reduce the pain of chemotherapy. The side effects of this drug can make people fatigue and memory amnesia. Under Alex's psychological guidance and doctor's treatment, Kite gradually recovered his health. Kite could not recall the details of where she was imprisoned by the criminal, but she clearly remembered that the criminal claimed to be Casanova, and she had also talked with Naomi and other girls, which was so much for Alex It's a kind of comfort.
Alex discovered by investigating drug purchase records that a cosmetic surgeon named Rudolph had purchased this drug in large quantities. So at Kite's strong request, Alex agreed to take her and sneak into Rudolph's cabin in the jungle. Here they did find a girl who was sexually abused, but unfortunately Rudolph had escaped in the chaos. Through the police comparison, everyone was surprised to find that Rudolf is not Casanova, but he must have known Casanova. Two people are like competing, hijacking girls in different locations, and then show off and compare each other.
Alex immediately returned to Durham, and they locked the suspect on Dr. Sachs. The police found some torture tools such as handcuffs from Sachs's home, but Sachs did not cooperate with the police investigation and refused to admit that he had kidnapped the girl. Day by day, the girls who were kidnapped would face death threats because of lack of food. Fortunately, Kite recalled that the place where he was detained was like a basement, so based on the information found by the local library, the police finally abandoned it in one place. The girls were found under the manor.
Now everything is over, but because Rudolph has not been caught, Kite is facing danger at any time, and the police specially sent people to protect Kite's surroundings. Alex is about to return to New York. In order to express his gratitude, Kite prepared a sumptuous dinner at home to see Alex off. At this moment, the local police officer Nick, who has been cooperating with Alex's investigation, came to Kite's home. Kite welcomed him warmly and invited him to wait for Alex to come and have a meal. However, during the small talk, Kite suddenly felt that many of Nick's movements and tone were very familiar. It turned out that the person in front of him was Casanova, a perverted murderer. There was a fight between Kite and Nick. The police outside the house didn't notice the situation in the house. Fortunately, Alex arrived in time and shot Nick to death. Kite really got rid of the nightmare.
