This 10-episode historical drama focuses on the saga of department store pioneer Harry George Gordon Selfridge (1858-1947). Selfridge was an American-born British businessman who came to England in 1906 and began building the Selfridges department store on Oxford Street in London. The store opened in 1909 and became the "ancestor" of the department store. Later, a mistress and Gambling addiction cost Selfridge a huge fortune and dies in poverty. Notable women who have had affairs with Selfridge include: Isadora Duncan, founder of Modern dance , who made dance a natural expression of human limbs and emotions, tangled up in sports car tires for shawls And died unexpectedly; Anna Pavlova, a Russian ballet dancer, a famous contemporary dancer, made a significant contribution to the dissemination and popularization of ballet art.
