In 1855, during the pioneering period of the United States, there were three women in a frontier town, all of them were tortured into mental illness by the harsh environment in the west. One threw his child into the trash can, and the other couldn't extricate himself from the shadow of his mother's death, and became crazy all day long. Scary, another one who spends all day with puppets due to the death of a child.
Mary Bee Cuddy, the town's marriage-hating woman who recently failed to propose another marriage, decides to volunteer to escort three mad women west from Nebraska to Iowa, where she will be handed over to a hospice Church members. On the way, she rescued the rogue miner George Briggs from the creditor and went on the road together. At the same time, she also had a deep intention to capture the other party through thick and thin. They endured many hardships in the harsh, desolate natural environment, and Mary Bee finally couldn't help proposing to George, but she was rejected again, and she had to choose to dedicate herself to him to satisfy herself. Unexpectedly, when he woke up the next day, George found that Mary Bee had hanged himself. He originally decided to run away, but he finally sent the three crazy women to his destination. Deeply affected by Mary Bee's death, George took her tombstone to go home by boat. Everyone on the ferry danced happily. Someone kicked the tombstone into the water. George didn't see it and was still immersed in it.

The best movie I have seen so far this year, the strong spiritual core and the sad process make people feel powerless, but full of desire for happiness.

Is Spader self-deprecating? It's the same in everything, disappointed. The movie itself, I don't know, I haven't watched much, it's very depressing. The quality of photography is super good. Clothing is also great.

The Homesman quotes

  • George Briggs: Now, if you don't mind me asking you, where the hell is my goddamn bed?

Mary Bee Cuddy: In the stable, where you belong.

  • Mary Bee Cuddy: Perhaps you don't realize what a grand thing you're doing taking these poor, helpless women home. If you don't, I assure you, I do. This might be the finest, most generous act of your life.
