Karl Theodore Delaire's last silent film is very experimental. The film is almost entirely composed of close-ups of people's faces and a few close-up shots, without positioning shots, which hits people's hearts directly. The close-up shots of Joan of Arc and the Judge use overhead and vertical shots respectively, highlighting the contrast between strengths and weaknesses.
