The film is full of humorous charm, and the performance is powerful. The characters are real and credible, and they are as kind as old friends who I see every day. The director did not let the film flow too much sentimentality and affectation, and the whole film has always maintained a The tone is light, the plot is natural and smooth, and it is pleasant. Laura Linney portrays Sammy's self-restraint to the core, making her embrace of love both believable and touching. Mark Alan Ruffalo also managed to play the capricious and charming Terry.
The director Lonergan used the music of Johann Sebastian Bach to add color to the soundtrack of the film. Usually, such borrowing often causes dissonance in emotional communication and aesthetic taste because the plot of the film does not match the music. This is not the case in this film, the audience feels only harmony and resonance.
