The civilian defense of the city bought time for the general, and eventually Texas officially became the 28th state in the United States. The dialogue between the two black people in the middle is very real: the Mexicans abolished slavery, why do we still work for the Americans? The part of playing the violin before the war is still very romantic, Patrick Wilson is...

The Alamo was originally a Catholic district established by the Spanish, located near San Antonio, Texas, with an unfinished Catholic church. After the Mexican War of Independence, a large number of Americans poured into Texas to pioneer and colonize, and in 1836 they betrayed Mexico and established the Republic of Texas. After the Republic militia annihilated the Mexican defenders of the Alamo and turned it into a fortress, Mexican President Santa Ana learned of the Texas rebellion and led a...

What the film tries to downplay is that the immediate cause of the rebellion was the prohibition of slavery by the central government in...

This version of "Border Town Heroes" restores the human nature of the main characters. They are all ordinary people who are not mythical with their own shortcomings. In order to fight against the drums of the Mexican army, David picked up the violin and played along with the sound, which actually resolved the anger and rhythm. This wonderful idea, using sound against sound, must be very...

How is the US military in the film like a rabble?
What is a bit suspicious about watching this film is that the US military in the film looks like a guerrilla.
I remember watching in The Patriots that the American colonies during the Revolutionary War could at least organize a decent army.
The Civil War that broke out more than 30 years after the... -

The sound of the piano reverberates over the battlefield
There are many places in history that have been immortalized because of a battle.
The Alamo is remembered by history because of a group of men. "If you don't win, you'd rather die!" These men roared in such a situation that the strength of the enemy and me was disparate. Can't be calm for a long...

William Travis: I have here pieces of paper, letters from politicians and generals, but no indication of when, or if help will arrive. Letters not worth the ink committed to them. I fear that no one is coming. Texas has been a second chance for me. I expect that might be true for many of you as well. It has been a chance not only for land and riches, but also to be a different man. I hope a better one. There have been many ideas brought for in the past few months of what Texas is, and what it should become. We are not all in agreement. But I'd like to ask each of you what it is you value so highly that you are willing to fight and possibly die for. We will call that Texas. The Mexican army hopes to lure us into attempting escape. Almost anything seems better than remaining in this place, penned up. If, however, we force the enemy to attack, I believe every one of you will prove himself worth ten in return. We will not only show the world what patriots are made of, but we will also deal a crippling blow to the army of Santa Anna. If anyone wishes to depart under the white flag of surrender, you may do so now. You have that right. But if you wish to stay here with me in the Alamo, we will sell our lives dearly.

David Crockett: It's amazing what a little harmony will do.
