Telling the story of Judas' conversion to Christ, how much pain did it take to be so relieved? Throughout the text, Christ is like being by your side, giving you water when you are thirsty and despairing, and giving you the faith to survive; it is also like being in the fog, never giving Christ a frontal shot, just his back, a vague look in the distance . At the end, when Christ began to be born, the sky and the earth fell apart, and all the pain and hatred in the world disappeared. . . Judah's mother and sister also recovered. It was a miracle that he had to feel: Believing in God, sickness was eliminated, hatred was eliminated, health came, and happiness came. .
The whole film is magnificent and majestic, with a texture like an oil painting; it also has bizarre sound and light effects, which is not inferior to any contemporary film and is worth watching.

I think I watched it over and over again in the audio-visual room of the library.

Years later, I will definitely still remember today's movie viewing experience. After the six-minute prelude, I slowly opened such a large-screen format and exquisite picture quality in the dark. A stern, such a great movie was presented. I believe William Wheeler and Lay Weng Nai will also be pleased; it is hard to imagine that such a grand scene was shot more than half a century ago without special effects.

Ben-Hur quotes

  • Centurion: There's a Jew outside. He wants to see the Tribune Messala.

Messala: I assume he has a name.

Centurion: [sneeringly] He says he's a prince, Prince Judah Ben-Hur.

Messala: [loud and quickly] Then treat him like one!

    [quietly]

Messala: Tell him I'll join him.

[the centurion starts to leave, and Messala shouts again]

    Messala: CENTURION!

    [Again quietly]

Messala: This was his country before it was ours. Don't forget that.

    Centurion: Yes, Tribune.

    [the centurion then goes out]

Sextus: That was very wise. This Judah Ben-Hur is the son of one of the wealthiest families in Judea.

  • [Quintas Arrius wakes up, chained, on ship debris; the chain is held by Judah]

Quintus Arrius: Why did you save me?

Judah Ben-Hur: Why did you have me unchained?

[they struggle briefly, Arrius is overpowered; he looks at the shackle on Judah's ankle]

Quintus Arrius: What is your name, Forty-One?

    Judah Ben-Hur: Judah Ben-Hur.

Quintus Arrius: Judah Ben-Hur. Let me die.

Judah Ben-Hur: [ironically] We keep you alive to serve this ship. Row well, and live.
