singing moonlight

The Sound of Music is playing on TV again. Watched it over and over again and still couldn't put it down. The more you see it, the more it becomes one of your favorite things!
Maria has a lively nature and loves music. She grew up in a monastery, but she doesn't fit in with the atmosphere here and is seen as deviant. Thinking that perhaps the outside world would suit her better, the convent nanny sent her to the home of a navy captain to take care of seven naughty children for the widower. Maria was surprised that the captain's family managed the children in the way of the army. She got along with the kind and naughty children with wisdom, brought music back to the home that had been silent for many years, and also melted the captain's dusty heart because of the loss of his beloved wife. It ended up being married at the convent where she wanted to be a nun. When they returned from their honeymoon, Austria had been occupied by the Nazis, and the captain was asked to serve in the Nazi navy. He refused to serve the Nazis. After a show, the family made a dramatic escape from Austria. At the end of the play, the family boarded the Swiss Alps. The ridge symbolizes the beginning of a peaceful and happy new life.
This is a lighthearted and cheerful film with World War II as the background, and it has endured for nearly half a century. Everyone has different reasons to love it. Part of what I love about it is my love of Maria, and part of my love of the picture and the music.
Whenever she felt lonely, she would go to the mountains to sing, throw herself into the blue sky, white clouds and green grass, and her happiness would become as broad as heaven and earth, and loneliness had nowhere to hide. Maria won the children's trust with her sincere love and music, and gave them back their happy childhood. She dances the Austrian folk dance with the captain perfectly, and when she finds herself in love with the captain, she can't face it and flees back to the monastery.
How safe it is to escape.
But Mammy told her that when things come, you must face them bravely, so that you can understand the will of God. When he closes a door, he must open a window in another. Maria bravely returned to the captain's house, this time with a sense of mission, to take care of the child until the next governess arrived.
When the captain's fiancée, the baroness, accidentally bumped into the captain looking at Maria's back on the terrace, she still did not give up, chatting about the wedding gift, and the captain's heart and eyes were completely occupied by Maria. Finally, the captain said after a few hesitations that no gift would be of any use. When two people who were going to get married were discussing marriage... The baroness immediately interrupted him and chose to "take the initiative" . She is one of those women, shrewd and sophisticated. Of course she is also pitiful, just because she likes Maria too much, she doesn't like her very much. Feelings are subjective, and when you love a character too much, it's hard to be objective and fair to all characters. I think this is the meaning of the role of the Baroness. She creates a little obstacle, because touching love is supposed to be tortuous, but the author also preserved her dignity, letting her choose to leave or treat her kindly.
When Maria and the captain were talking to each other in the back garden, she sang:
Perhaps I had wicked childhood
Perhaps I had a miserable youth
But somewhere in my wicked, miserable past
There must have been a moment of truth

For here you are
Standing there
Loving me
Whether or not you should

So somewhere in my youth or childhood
I must have done something good

This may be another reason why many people love this film, a perfect love is always loved by everyone, and it also gives people more belief: true love Must be somewhere.
There is also a very beautiful song in it: Edelweiss. I remember watching the Zhengda variety show many years ago. Wang Xuechun sang this song on the spot. Until today, many years later, every time I hear this song, I will think of that scene, giving people a feeling of happiness and stability. It suits her very well. Wang Xuechun is also a hostess I like very much. She is not beautiful, she has a very unique smile, and she lives up to her name. Not sure how she is now, must be living a happy and peaceful life somewhere, I guess.
