A brief review of 3D "Pina" at Shanghai International Film Festival

1. Disappointment is greater than surprise. It's not as shocking as I imagined. Maybe it's the reason why I don't know enough about modern dance. However, there are a few scenes that are very emotional, such as Pina's last solo dance, and the scene of a man and a woman in white and black dancing on the street. Most of the rest of the dance is too obscure for me.
2. The biggest surprise is the 3D effect. This movie can be said to be the first true 3D movie I have ever seen. Those 3D movies I have seen before, such as Avatar, I have never felt that watching 2D and watching 3D. What's the difference, but for the first time this film made me think "Ah, so 3D effects can give a film such a special look and feel". Watching Pina in 2D and 3D will be two completely different experiences. Every shot in the film has a very strong 3D effect, and it can be seen that the director tries to break the gap between the audience and the screen by arranging 3D effects in many places (for example, a stage appears after several shots are zoomed out, the effect is very good) . The 3D effect of this film is so good, I think a large part of the reason is the theme of theater dance. 3D is very good at showing the depth of the stage, and the depth of field is clear before and after. Many shots give me the feeling of watching a group of villains in one place. Dancing in the box is amazing. All in all, the 3D effect adds a lot to the film. But I am skeptical that most commercial films in the future will be necessary and possible to achieve the effect of Pina 3D.
3. The soundtrack is very good, the original sound is recommended (simplecd is available below)
4. The quality of the audience is still very high, from the end of the film to the end of the subtitles, a total of three applauses.

3.5 stars

Dance shows the beauty of the body, and the film is the beauty of the passage of time, commemorating the "German first lady of modern dance" - Pina Bausch, who died in 2009 by means of records. But to be honest, the dance in it left me at a loss.
