[Myth] Hero's Sense of Mission

After watching the movie "Alexander the Great", I was still immersed in the plot and the emotions of the characters, and I couldn't extricate myself for a long time. Hercules, the idol of Alexander the Great, felt that he was born with a sense of mission, and it was in this noble sense of mission that he found his life value. Thirty-three is a very strange age in my opinion, because so many geniuses have died at this age in my knowledge.
Conquest, hero, this movie revolves around that theme. Alexander the Great was a real king. He has his own unique insights in human nature, military affairs, situation, and the world, which is considered a unique talent.
One of the things about Alexander's character that struck me was that he respected cultures, even two different cultures, which seemed sacred to him.
When he defeated Darius and entered Persia, I was deeply moved by the respect and protection he showed to this foreign culture, this civilization that once bullied his homeland.
When he saw that he didn't respect the culture because of others, his anger was as if a child was robbed of a toy by others, innocent and serious. When I saw this picture, it evoked an unspeakable feeling in my heart. Culture, civilization, the great product born of human existence, we have no reason to despise or despise the cultures of other countries. This is the bottom line of human nature. (Maybe this storyline was constructed by the screenwriter, but I am grateful for the touching he gave me.)
ps: People sometimes, not people.

Alexander quotes

  • Old Ptolemy: The truth is never simple and yet it is. The truth is we did kill him. By silence we consented... because we couldn't go on. But by Ares, what did we have to look forward to but to be discarded in the end like Cleitus? After all this time, to give away our wealth to Asian sycophants we despised? Mixing the races? Harmony? Oh, he talked of these things. I never believe in his dream. None of us did. That's the truth of his life. The dreamers exhaust us. They must die before they kill us with their blasted dreams.

  • Alexander: [after Philip's assassination]

Alexander: How could you behave so shamelessly in public?

Olympias: Because it was meant to be.

Alexander: This is not how I wanted to become king!

    Olympias: No one blames you.

Alexander: They blame me already! Behind my back, in secret!

    Olympias: Slander is not power.

Alexander: Shame is? Who killed my father? Tell me! Tell me or shall I put you on trial for his murder?

    Olympias: Pausanias.

Alexander: He had help! Did you help him?

Olympias: [not convincingly] No. Never. Why? Why would I?
