This is the story of the two brothers. It takes place in the cold and dark northern Europe. The film is gray, and it seems that there is always fine snow, and it is rare to see a trace of warmth. One was the death of his brother Martin after crying all night, and the other was that the female neighbor was strangled on the bed by the mentally handicapped Ivan. The accidental death of the younger brother has severely damaged the hearts of the young brothers, disintegrated the family, and separated the brothers. They meet in prison, but the brotherhood remains. The younger brother also has a deep affection for his youngest son, Martin. The son has become the goal of his life and the softest place in his heart, although he is always unable to resist the temptation of drugs.
But family love can't erase the trauma of the soul, it can't eliminate the confusion of life, and it can't help them determine the direction of life. They are just like a dead leaf in this cold winter, drifting with the current, not knowing where the stream of life will take them. The older brother seemed to know more about life. He was looking for his younger brother, gave all the property left by his mother to his younger brother, and assumed the responsibility of taking care of his nephew after his younger brother died. The younger brother could not withstand another blow from life, and spent his tragic life in prison.
Why is the film named Submarine, I searched the Internet for a long time and found nothing. Or maybe the title comes from the Beatles' most famous song, "Yellow Submarine"? There was a similarity in the expression of that emotion:
