"The Book Thief" is a movie about war, the story of Nazis and Jews. But different from ordinary war themes, this movie uses the book as an intervention point and tells the story from the perspective of God. A book, a humble girl, an accordion-loving man, a nagging, cranky woman, a little boy with blond hair, the caring pity of a mayor's wife, a story about the Nazi era. The protagonist of the story is named Liesel, her father died, her mother and her responsibilities to this society gave her to a family in Germany, and her adoptive parents were named Hans Rosa. At first she was a child who didn't even know how to write her own name. With the help of her adoptive father, she built an exclusive dictionary for her in the basement and read it every night. Lots of reading for Mrs. Market. The most important part is Max's guidance to her soul. Even in such an era full of gunpowder and war, there is still a thirst for knowledge. Rudy is Liesel's first friend in Germany, and the only friend of her age. She likes to run. He is a kind and warm person. When Liesel first came to an unfamiliar environmental protection, he gave her friendship and care. When Liesel's "Christmas gift" fell into the icy lake, he jumped into the lake without hesitation to save her. A gift, one to accompany her. Max is a Jew. Because of his father's assistance to Hans on the battlefield, he hid in Hans's house when the Nazis massacred the Jews. He did not give up hope of life in the environment of physical and mental suffering. The arrival of the dawn, I believe that the bad luck will end one day. Spring has finally ushered in. Rosa, who was just beginning to give off a grumpy, indestructible image. In fact, she is irritable, that's because she loves this family and is too nervous, but she is just a woman with a knife-like mouth and a tofu heart, and she looks strong on the surface. A person also looks from a part, she is ugly, but from a part she is also a warm and respectable person, isn't it? We should not only see one side of things, we should start from the whole. Hans was an empathetic, humorous, brave, and upright man. When Liesel first came to the house, she gave her warmth through a series of details such as eye language and language, so that she could feel the existence of family, and had the courage to stand up for certification when her friends were misunderstood. This movie has a lot of shocking plots: Hans's basement dictionary for Liesel, the book burning in the square to save books, Max's Christmas gift for Liesel, the snowball fight in the basement on Christmas Eve, Max's Si has a different daily weather report with Liesel after moving into the basement, Crystal Night, Glacier Gift Picking, Bomb Shelter

Many movies have narration throughout, but the special thing about this film is that the narrator himself is death. A very warm story, the characters are very successful, showing the goodness of human nature of different personalities. But the rhythm is too flat, the final ending is very sad, and the sugar is too heavy. I may be moved and liked it when I watch it, but it is easy to forget afterwards. The music is sad but also, hopeful. @Park Terrace 6

The Book Thief quotes

  • Liesel Meminger: There once was a ghost of a boy who liked to live in the shadows, so he wouldn't frighten people. His job was to wait for his sister, who was still alive. She wasn't afraid of the dark, because she knew that's where her brother was. At night, when darkness came to her room, she would tell her brother about the day. She would remind him how the sun felt on his skin, and what the air felt like to breathe, or how snow felt on his tongue. And that reminded her that she was still alive.

  • Narrator: [Narrator/Death] The only truth that I truly know is that I am haunted by humans.
