Transformers voice actors

As a semi-animation, the choice of voice actors for the film is very important. Finding a behind-the-scenes dubbing that fits the Transformers’ appearance and personality, and also saves costs as much as possible under the existing high investment, is the principle of Paramount’s dubbing selection. In this regard, producer Don Murphy specifically solicited opinions from cartoon fans when preparing for the filming, and the answers he got were almost the same: continue to use the original cartoon dubbing.
To listen to the opinions of fans, Paramount hired Peter Cullen, who dubbed "Optimus Prime" in the original cartoon, and Frank Wilk, who dubbed "Megatron", but the two were very old. The sound quality is naturally not comparable to that of when he was young in the 1980s. Therefore, director Michael Bay personally held a dubbing audition for the two of them. As a result, "Optimus Prime" dubbing Cullen successfully passed the test, and "Megatron" The voice of Wilk in the sky is too old and doesn't fit well with the alien shape in the movie version of "Megatron", so it is not suitable for the voice actor of Megatron. Instead of Wilk, Megatron was dubbed by Hugo Weaving. His cold temperament and full determination are similar to "Megatron".
Another Transformers that clearly has a lot of lines is the "roadblock". The black actor Keith David was dubbed for it. As a rule of American cartoons, the animated characters usually dubbed by black actors tend to have a little hip-hop style. Therefore, if Keith David is selected as the voice, there will be a "roadblock" with a ridiculous version, which is also a major attraction of the film.
