Cheek

1. Pigs are strewn about on the road, and a boy with a bloody face shouted at the grass that could not be seen in the dark night: Cheek. This is the beginning of the movie "Chick". After a doubtful hook, the story begins with a boring and bland composition class. In class, Mike read a piece of composition written by himself, which contained a sentence his mother said to him: "You can say anything, what others say is rubbish". Because of this sentence, Mike was left to talk by the teacher. The teacher said, you can't say that about your mother. See the contradiction? Suddenly I remembered what Luo Zhenyu said in Get: The sign of maturity is decent words and deeds. The so-called rules of the game for adults are the tug-of-war with interests as the core. The teacher's dogma in the film coincides with Luo Fat's chicken soup. Did Mike listen to the teacher, or did he listen to his mother? The film is based on this sentence. The teacher asked Mike to tear up the book that wrote about his mother. When he was about to tear it up, the teacher was angry and asked him to think about what he had done wrong. Then Mike monologues: Obviously, I made a big mistake, but I don't know what I did wrong. The resonance of this sentence is too strong, enough to attract me to watch it in front of the camera.

Then the most important character of the film, Chick, comes on, and I may have to spend a bit of time talking about Chick, because he is so cool, and the director buried too many metaphors and interesting stalks in him. For example, why Cheek's mantra is "cool", such as his complex lineage and life, such as he has wit and courage that others of the same age do not have. Most importantly, he was the hippie teenager every adult once aspired to be. 2. The 14-year-old Cheek is the new classmate in the class. In the film, he is Russian, but what he looks like is a man from Northeast China: a circle of shaved red hair with a lump in the middle, wearing A green camouflage T-shirt, a large school uniform, and a plastic bag for packing things, a fanny pack across his chest, and a cigarette in his ear. Does it look familiar, typical Chinese. Moreover, Cheek is very similar to Chow Yun-fat.

When I watched it, I always had two questions. The director was clearly showing a Chinese, why did he say that Cheek was Russian? And also used the Chinese element known to earth people - dragon. Is it very caring, for fear that we think of him as Japanese or Korean. There is also a dialogue between Mike and Cheek about Cheek's bloodline. The various ethnic groups are ambiguous. What does this mean? After watching it, I went downstairs to buy a circle of food, and after eating a pair of chicken wings, the answer came: the director is playing metaphors. Today's China is the former Russia, and the mixed ancestry implies that the wisdom of the Chinese is mixed and diverse. From this point of view, the director should be a fan of China. This also explains why Chinese elements can be seen everywhere in Mike's home.

Cheek is smart, aggressive, doesn't believe in rules, is smart and even cunning, and has a strong build. In the eyes of Westerners, this is the international image of China today. And Mike is obviously much weaker, gentle and kind, representing the declining West. I don't want to talk about politics, because I have the above conjecture about the director's personality. Remember, the title of the film is "Chick" instead of "Mike", and what does the Northeastern look that is so realistic that even I, a Chinese, can't fault it? The story is inseparable from the background, and the seemingly insignificant details of the characters all come from the background of the times. The story reflects this era. 3. The director outlines Mike's psychology with a few simple shots. A mother who is about to go to a mental rehabilitation center, with sad eyes and constant alcoholism; a middle-class father and a young and beautiful female colleague. Mike fantasised about shooting his father and the little three by the pool; he shot the flowers in the garden with a water gun to vent; several sets of foreshadowing presented Mike's fanciful but timid and timid character in a three-dimensional manner.

Mike's mother set off for the rehabilitation center. Mike's father patted Mike's mother's face perfunctorily and turned around immediately without any greetings. The camera conveyed the situation and sadness of Mike's mother. And Mike's hug and farewell to his mother made our hearts feel better. Before the business trip, my father said: Don't make trouble. Like a gunshot, they officially started their journey to the catastrophe. 4. The girl that Mike likes invited all the classmates to the birthday party, except for Mike, who is not handsome and inconspicuous, and Chick, who is eccentric and obsessed. Frustrated, Mike took the portrait painted for the girl and prepared to tear it up, but he couldn't bear it in the end. Cheek drove Mike to the party scene with a stolen Dara. Mike handed the portrait to the girl in person. There were no extra words, but the expressions on his face were all asking: Do you know my heart? When he left, Chick showed off his driving skills, and the whole class looked at these two monsters with envy.

dazzling car skills

They decided to set off for Mike's grandfather's house in Vanegia. Without a cell phone or a map, in the early morning fog and the music of Richard Clayderman's "Adirina by the Water," Cheek steers his car onto the impossible highway. Whose youth does not want to have a friend who is witty and brave. Take you into trouble and take you to fly. Lost and unwilling to turn back, Chick drives his car into the cornfield. Once the taboo is broken, unbridled imagination comes into play. The bear children drove their names through the cornfields, and finally rushed into the cattle. This kind of spoof, presumptuousness and absurdity make us, who were once restricted by rules and regulations, fly into envy. They slept under the stars, with the giant windmill spinning slowly above their heads, talking about the movie "Starship Troopers". "Somewhere in the sky, in one of the stars, something like this is happening, the insects are going on a carnage, and no one even knows about it, except us."..."Do you really think there's something in the sky?", "The odds are very small, because the universe is so vast, and the odds are very small. Then there's a movie playing somewhere, and everyone thinks it's a sci-fi movie about two kids on Earth who steal cars." Director It's shouting to the audience, and I know you're watching...it's sweet, isn't it. 5. "Norma" both shouted at the same time. Add in the "crazy idea" before and the "last safe spot" after, and the telepathy and trust among friends has been established. How could a road film not have a section of a beautiful woman's affair? In order to find a hose that can steal oil, they met Issa who lived in a garbage room and went to Prague. From the beginning to the end, the film did not tell us her experience and story. The coincidence appeared, the time has come to leave, and the trajectory of fate has changed a little.

Issa leaves

On the Broken Bridge, Cheek tells Mike the secret of being gay. At this point in the film, they experience and escape together, trust, bathe, share privacy, and the director has laid the cornerstone of friendship strong enough. Then comes the test and climax. 6. On the highway, Mike drives, and in front is a truck pulling a pig. The truck driver did not let them overtake, and after a series of flips, the truck rolled over and their car hit it. The truck driver was pinned under the car, and they were not seriously injured. When the police came, Chick was leaving because he didn't want to be sent to the orphanage. Before leaving, Mike gave Cheek his cool jacket, and Cheek happily put it on and disappeared into the grass shrouded in the night. So, there is the scene at the beginning of the film, Mike shouted to the grass shrouded in the night: Chick!

bid farewell

Mike's father colluded with lawyers to put the blame for the accident on Cheek, who fled, but Mike came forward in court and admitted that he was driving the car at the time. After walking out of court, the mad father jumped-up-and punched Mike Hyun-cool. This is the price of friendship.

beat up mike

My father finally moved out of the house. Mike's mother threw the sofa into the swimming pool that Mike's father had built at a great price. Who says things can't be thrown into the pool? Who says dancing can only be done on land? Who can't live without who? On the first day of school after summer vacation, everyone felt that Mike had become a storyteller. This kind of charm made the girl who had never cared about him ignore his appearance and handed him the first note. Mike, who has gone through the journey, no longer sees the appearance of a girl.
