The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by British writer Dodi Smith. The book was published in 1956 and attracted the attention of Walt Disney, which was adapted by Bill Pitt and became a screenplay. When it was first released, the official title in English was "One Hundred and One Dalmatians", but later changed to the digital type "101 Dalmatians".
"101 Loyal Dogs" used copying technology to replace the previous ink and paint in the production process to save Disney's expenditure on coloring technicians.
