Regarding the plot in which the mother does not let the "Bao" son and the blonde girlfriend leave the house, and even swallows "Bao" in one bite, Domee Shi's explanation is: when people are full of strong feelings for someone, they are unwilling to separate . Her mother would sometimes say "I wish I could put you back in my belly" to express her most sincere love for her child.
