Blow Out movie plot

2021-12-21 08:01
Film sound engineer Jack Terry (John Travolta) is a B-level horror film sound engineer. Late one day at night, when he sampled his own film, some extra sounds came from the machine. Driven by curiosity, Terry listened repeatedly. It turned out that he recorded a car falling into a nearby river due to fatigue. To his surprise, when he jumped into the river to search for the car, he found Sally Bertina (Nancy Allen) in the car was still alive and rescued her. Sally told Terry that the person with her was a highly competitive presidential candidate; Terry discovered that the car did not fall into the river due to fatigue driving, but that someone deliberately tried to hide behind the accident. It's a vicious conspiracy. As the investigation progressed, Terry continued to investigate while avoiding the pursuit of unknown killers, hoping to reveal the truth. He gradually fell into an absurd world full of conspiracy, pornography, murder and death, with no one around him. Credible. When he wanted to stop all of this, he found that he was stuck in it and there was no way to go back.

Probably the best BDP I've ever seen. "What is he, a peeping Tom?" The audio-visual is wonderful, and the character setting is even more simple...too Su, a better actor would be better TT Human voyeurism...so charming. *I need more shakedown stories in movies* (Why did Jack go to mess with him earlier, he is an ex-bugman, wouldn't he think of being wired first? They are so powerful, wouldn't they wire you..)

Blow Up means "enlargement", so Blow Out should be translated as "blow out"... Anyway, add the word "blow up" =..= What the hell is "evil line". The dazzling scenes were messed up by the book, but the so-called "meta movie" can be separated from the plot and still have interesting parts. The final scene of The Rising is really touching, but it doesn't really match the previous one. The soundtrack is really messed up. Wouldn’t it be better if such a rich set of techniques could be used in “meta-film documentaries” in an intertextual form? At least it could get rid of the script requirement.

Blow Out quotes

  • Sally: Are yuh leavin'?

Jack Terry: Yeah, I gotta go, but, um, whatta yuh say when you get outta here, we have a drink sometime... hmmm - in a glass?

  • [last lines]

Jack Terry: It's a good scream. It's a good scream.
