In the 1950s, David Hefkau grew up in a very strict Jewish family. However, he suffers from mild nervousness. He had already revealed his talent as a pianist in his early years. His father Peter put all his hopes on him, and always urged him to study hard and practice hard. When David's piano skill improved by leaps and bounds, he received an invitation to study in the United States. But his father Peter would not let him go, because the cruel Peter refused to give up his control over his son. David's musical life was almost ruined by this. In order to realize his ideals, David resolutely left home alone, leaving Australia with his father's "never allowed home" ban. In order to realize his desire to study music, he went to the London Conservatory of Music to study. At the Royal Academy of Music, he studied under Professor Cecil. Because he played the extremely difficult Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 in the concert, the performance was an unprecedented success. Because David's mental burden was too heavy, he fainted at the end of the performance. Later, with the encouragement of his wife Gillian, he finally got out of the shadow of the illness and successfully held a concert again
