Tokyo Sonata script update

The original script of the film is the work of Max Mannix, an Australian playwright who once lived in Japan. After getting the script, Kurosawa Kiyoshi made a drastic adaptation. Max Mannix's book is based on the relationship between the father and the son: the father goes to work without the knowledge of the family, the son learns the piano without the knowledge of the family, and the confrontation and communication between the two promote the development of the plot. On this basis, Kurosawa added the story of his mother and brother. He wanted to set a big secret for his brother who had the least sense of family, so he made up a war. When portraying her mother, Kurosawa took the advice of Ms. Yukiko Tanaka, a housewife. Although the mother is the maintenance and support of family members, she is actually the loneliest person in the family. This setting reflects the reality of Japanese housewives.
In 2007, Kurosawa completed the script and the film entered the shooting stage.
